What are the most lucrative affiliate marketing programs? Before a long journey into affiliate marketing, I started with ebay. I bought and sold items from the site. You can see my strategy here. I figured eventually that I was on to something which didn’t have any future. It was a time heavy business model and I knew there was something better out there.

I bought an ebook from ebay while searching for a better business model and was amazed by the ability to buy and download a product. This made sense as a much better business model than what I was doing. It was an automated sale! This discovery led me to affiliate marketing. It wasn’t long after that I started looking for the most lucrative affiliate marketing programs.

I didn’t find the most lucrative marketing affiliate programs at first because I was in ‘frenzied mode’ and jumped from one course after another continually. I tried all kinds of methods but initially used Clickbank when I started doing affiliate marketing. Back then I was excited by the model itself and couldn’t wait to make my first online sale. It wasn’t an easy ride but I knew that if I coud make it work, it would be an income which was scalable. That was what kept me going.

My main problem was traffic as I suspect is most people’s problem with an online business. I tried ranking articles and creating content. It couldn’t come fast enough for me though, and I got caught in shiny object syndrome: jumping from one strategy to another without any real long term focus. It wasn’t until years in that I discovered what I consider the most lucrative affiliate marketing programs. Until then I didn’t realise the potential of affiliate marketing. I was just playing with it really and treating it as a hobby, not a real career.

I had found some success with selling a few digital products. However, my success was built on falling sands. I struggled for a long time before making any sales and then when it started working I had my Adwords accound shut down. I threw in the towel for a while but came back to affilaite marketing later. Nothing could offer the same level of freedom and flexibility in terms of working. I was determined to make it work, whatever it took!

I had two easly successes; one with a review article for an affilaite product and the other with Google’s adwords program and an email marketing campaign. I should have known at that moment where the future of affiliate marketing was but I was too distracted and didn’t have a focus.

My review gave me a sale but it was a short lived success. I didn’t make any more, just the one. The email series however, gave me regular sales and on a fairly low budget. I paid advertising to send people to an email capture page and collected emails. From there I promoted an affiliate product.

I sold many of these before I got shut down. It was the obvious route to online success: buy targeted traffic and deliver great products through email marketing.

Some time later and after a lot of disappointment, I saw an advert on Facebook which read: “Struggling With Your Affiliate business?”

I had to say “yes” – I was! So I clicked the link and decided to start again and empty my ‘cup’. Over the years I’d learned a lot, but I was getting nowhere. I was about to discover the most lucrative affiliate programs. My mindset was the first thing at fault. i was stuck in learning mode. I was learning one skill and then the next without moving my business on financially. By using high ticket items, subscription products and a product range I soon learned the ‘edge’ that the top affiliates had.

I had been promoting single low valued items which only paid me once. I learned that by choosing a product range which paid me commissions for ‘up-sells’ (closed automatically and by a built in sales team), I could earn so much more for each sale I made.

Subscription products too make a huge difference to your rate of commissions. By selling commission products, you can earn monthly payments for each sale. This makes your business much more viable and you are then able to re-invest the income back into scaling up your business with paid advertising.

High Ticket Products

High ticket products allow you to earn more per sale than normal lower valued items. For ages I was selling lower valued items of $100 for a 40% commission. I made $40 on each item but that didn’t really give me the leverage to scale up my online business. Selling $1000 products makes all the difference.

Although you might make more $100 sales, a single $1000 sale is worth ten of the lower valued sales. It isn’t ten times as difficult to make the higher ticket sales either. You just need to target your audience differently and it often comes down to the same amount of work for both sales.

Subscription Products

The most lucrative affiliate marketing programs include subscription products. Subscriptions pay you again and again for a single referral. As your customer base grows, your monthly income grows. A normal shop has regular customers. Businesses are built on their repeat custom. Why should an online business be any different? use subscriptions because it gives you more leverage and better cash flow. this in turn gives you the ability to scale up with paid advertising. Up-Selling

If you’ve even been to McDonald’s or Burger King you may have noticed they have an up-selling policy. “Do you want fried with that?” “Do you want to go large?” etc. It’s maddening! But it works! Up-selling is the art of selling to existing customers. You already have a customer and that customer is much more likely to buy again from you than someone who isn’t a customer. By having a range of products you can promote to existing customers, you can build a business much more successfully than by chasing new customers continually. Use affiliate products with a product range and automated up-selling.

Multi-Tier Sales

Most affiliate companies don’t offer you the ability to build a team and earn a percentage of your team’s sales. This is similar to Multi-Level Marketing. It allows you to earn commissions on sales you don’t personally make, but that you have made through your referrals. By your actions you are generating sales for a company because you referred one of their affiliates. Most affiliate companies pay you once only for your initial referral and then they benefit from your loyal customer – potentially for life. What are the most lucrative affiliate programs? Of course the amount someone can make from affiliate marketing depends on the affiliate marketer themselves. That aside, the most lucrative affiliate marketing programs are those which offer the ability to build multiple income streams. Not every affiliate program is the same. Physical products, for example, tend to pay out less than digital products. Digital products therefore offer the affiliate the ability to make more money on each item.

The affiliates ability to sell a product is the crux of their success though. A physical product may very well be easier to sell than a digital product. Surely it’s better to sell a few physical products than only a single digital one? Well not really.

When I first started out as an affiliate I was full of excitement! I thought I was going to be rich very soon! This enthusiasm soon turned to disillusionment when nothing really happened. I didn’t know what I was doing. That was the crux of it and I’m sure it is the same for many struggling affiliates out there too.

Even if I had the best products available on the market, I would have failed. The most lucrative affiliate programs are not necessarily going to make you the most wealthy affiliate. That’s because it’s not the program, it’s you. You will determine whether your affiliate business is a success or not.

That being said, I am going to share what I consider the most lucrative affiliate programs. That is, in terms of what they can offer you if you succeed at them! Anyone can join an affiliate program and promote a product over the internet. Doing so well, requires a certain amount of knowledge and skill.Â That doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time. To make the most money from affiliate marketing you need to make the most of your time. Time is far more valuable than money. It’s easy to say when you have money, but much harder to say when you haven’t. However, the way in which you market your affiliate products has a great deal to do with how well you can do.

Some affiliate products pay out such low amounts that it’s not practical to use paid advertising. This means you rely on organic traffic and sharing your content. This can take time to build up. Even with the most lucrative affiliate programs, if your traffic is low, you’ll get poor results. To really scale up an affiliate business quickly you need paid advertising. That means more costs. Unless you have an affiliate product range, you’re not going to make the money back that you’ve spent. This makes paid advertising out of reach for the lower valued affiliate products. At the very least it makes it a much harder proposition.

Lucrative affiliate programs make the most of your sales. They offer to pay you for your customers again and again. Most affiliate programs only pay you once. They pay you for the first referral. By joining a program with ongoing commissions, you stand to make lifetime sales for repeat customers.

Think about a normal business. It make sales from loyal customers. It doesn’t rely on first time customers again and again. So why would you trust that business model as an affiliate? For single sale products you are doing the work of finding loyal customers for a company and only getting paid once for it. Use programs which have a product range instead. Then you’ve more ways of making money from each sale.

A product range is a series of products offering more and more value. Starting with an entry level product, as product ‘suite’ offers more to affiliates in terms of what they can sell. It can offer:

The key is understanding the business model. Unless you understand how such a product range works, you’re likely to apply your current business knowledge to it. For most people this means running an advert, failing and then giving up. This is a mistake. For most people having a sales funnel with all these items in it is a bit like owning a Ferrari, but not knowing how to drive.

Understanding how to build and scale up an advertising campaign, and then re-invest profits back in, is the key to building a successful online business.

When I started using paid advertising, I was very tentative. I was scared of losing money. I tried several times and made one or two sales. I tried to take out the money I made but didn’t know to re-invest. It wasn’t until I got the right training and education that things began to change. With high ticket products and subscription products, you need to invest to build your email list. Then your results will come back to you when people buy through your list. This can take time.

Alternate Career Options

Tired of the mundane and looking for alternate career options? In my late 30’s I realised I was in trouble. With no real income and a bunch of part time jobs, I knew things needed to change.Â I turned to the internet to find a method of making money which I could build around my other incomes. I had a sporadic career in the film industry and was about to start a martial arts school. However, I needed some alternate career options since mine were pretty unrealistic and the wolves were at my door! They had been for a number of years too and, it was slowly getting to me.

I started develping an interest in the internet as a means to make an income several years earlier. I began with ebay. Initially I sold items from my house and then started buying and selling. I found a clever little ‘hack’ which allowed me to find cheap items on ebay itself and then sell them on at a profit. You can see the strategy I used here. The main problem was it was a time heavy strategy and I wasn’t making enough from all my efforts.

Everyone around me was starting families and buying houses. I was still trying to make a career out of the film industry but my spirits were low. I had struggled for too long financially and it was taking its toll. I needed something which could bring in a proper income. I had many jobs over the years but nothing seemed to work for me. I wanted something which meant something to me – meaningful work. I needed some alternate career options which had the potential to give me a solid income but also allow me the flexibility to run my other businesses.

I had bought an ebook from ebay which showed me a tactic to use to build an ebay business. (see link above). The ebook itself seemed like the perfect business model to me. I downloaded the book after buying straight from ebay. The transaction was automated and this struck me as the perfect business model. I later learned how this same model was being used by some very successful online entrepreneurs.

The model of the ebook I downloaded led me to start creating my own ebooks. I tried to sell them but had no success. My first online sale however came from a business model known as affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is the process of selling someone else’s product over the internet for a percentage of the sale. Since there were already products selling successfully over the internet, it made more sense to sell those products than to waste time creating my own (not very good) products!

Digital products in particular offer a larger percentage commission – 40% in most cases. My first sale was of a website building program and it made me around $40 on a $100 sale. Physical products like those you might find on ebay or Amazon tend to pay much less, so digital products seemed like the logical choice. Digital products could also be accessed over the internet (globally) with no delivery costs or storage costs either. That’sÂ why (in part) affiliates can earn so much from selling digital products online.

A digital business model allows anyone to work a business from home or their laptop while working their current job/career. But it also is something which can be built up over time and scaled. This is the huge power of an internet business which many other careers simply can’t compete with – the ability to leverage online salesÂ to generate income.

A Scalable Business Model

Most alternate career options offer another opportunity to trade your time for money. Your income is usually capped too and you’re given only a couple of weeks holiday a year. I wanted something which I could build over time and which meant I was always developing. Many careers are so limited in their potential for both personal growth and income. I wanted both! Not only does an online business demand personal growth for it to work, but you can build and scale it from anywhere from a laptop. As long as you have an internet connection, you can start to learn the skills needed to get your own online business running.Â

You can’t scale your time. This means that if you’re working for a company, and selling your time for money, you’ll never escape! No matter how hard you work or how good you are at your job, you’ll still need it! An online business offers the ability to build multiple income streams from a laptop from anywhere in the world. You can automate sales of digital products and then scale up your business with online advertising and marketing methods. This is how people escape the ‘hamster wheel’ of trading their time for money and working in a meaningless job which is holding them from the life they can be living.

Start Your Own Online Business

I struggled for a long time looking for an online business model which was working and which had some ethos behind it. Home Earning System

If you’re looking for a home earning system, look no further. There are many ways to earn from home and in this article I’ll discuss a simple strategy known as affiliate marketing. You can also see my article on how to earn from ebay here: how to start a profitable ebay business. Â However, this business model is a little different to ebay. The ebay system I describe does work. I’ve successfully used it as a home earning system. Here’s the Â basic break down of how it works.

Home Earning System – Ebay

Ebay can be used as a home earning system in various ways. Some people buy in bulk from wholesalers like alibaba.com. They than create a single listing and sell their product over and over again. This requires a bulk purchase in order to get the price low enough to start earning from your sales. Ebay is so competitive that you’re competing with some major buyers who can afford to buy in such bulk they barely make money on each item. This makes it a difficult field to get into.

One other method is the one I describe in detail in my article. Basically it involves finding misspelled or badly listed ebay items. You can buy them at rock bottom prices because they don’t get the exposure they should because people can’t find them in the ebay listings. You then re-list the items with better title, description and better pictures. Start the listing at a low price to attract more people and start a bidding war.

Of course ebay can be used to sell items from your house that you no longer need too. It’s a great alternative to going to a car boot or yard sale. You can also pick up items from charity shops or car boot sales and then re-sell them on ebay for a profit. The more you get to know about the value of items, the more successful you will be. If you have a particular interest in something, like 80’s memorabilia or antiques, that’s perfect. Look for those items you can sell on at a profit.

I used ebay for years trying out various strategies like this. The best one I found was the misspelling tool strategy.

Although I had some success with this ebay system, it was time heavy. I was listing items on ebay, searching for bargains and queueing at the post office. Sometimes it seemed that this business model wasn’t helping me and I was just trapped by it.

Although the system can earn more as you find increasingly more valuable items, there was still a problem with it – it wasn’t scalable. My efforts were always my efforts. If I stopped, I would stop making money. The problem was I was still trading my time for money, even though the system offered some leverage.

After purchasing an ebook which taught the ebay system I used, I realised that the idea of selling a digital product is what would work without me having to be there! It was a home earning system which could be automated.

I bought an ebook from ebay. I paid for it online and I could access it straight away. This model I later learned could be applied to almost any product you can find on the internet. So you don’t need to create your own products, or personally talk to customers or deliver products yourself.

Affiliate marketing can be run from anywhere with a laptop and an internet connection. You don’t need to own any products personally or talk to any customers. It’s a business model which pays affiliates for referring people to products and services online.

Let’s say you recommend a nice restaurant to a friend. You friend goes there on your recommendation. Well, affiliate marketing is the same thing only you would earn a commission from the referral. In some cases you can earn up to 40% of a product’s cost, just by referring it to a customer.

This business model also allows you to automate and scale up. With the ebay business, I was trapped by it forever having to find more and more items to sell. A digital business model can let you sell the same product over and over again, on autopilot, from the same website. You can also scale up with paid advertising, and your cutomer base is global – with the right products.

With the affiliate business model, you can build a sustainable business which doesn’t require you to be in it! It can be automated and scaled but the best bit is you can stop trading time for money.

I initially thought affiliate marketing had to be the perfect home earning system. I set off with high expectations to create a profitable business from affiliate marketing. However, I ran into several problems. First I tried to create my own products and sell them. Â I created several websites but none of them worked. The harder I tried the more I seemed to fail!

It wasn’t until a lot of failures that I started looking for an online business mentor. I later learned what I was doing wrong, despite being on to a great business idea. The idea was sound. Create a website which could sell the same product again and again which could be automatically accessed online. It was just that I didn’t know how to go about it.

I later learned not to attempt to create my own products until I had a good grounding in the most important aspect of a home earning system – online marketing. With the right knowledge in marketing you can sell anything to anyone over the internet. You can sell products anywhere globally and even target somewhere specifically on the other side of the world if you want. The key was finding the right products and getting the right training.

I was trying to sell digital products for $100. With a 40% commission this meant I would earn $40 on each item. However, I was doing things in the wrong way. Even with 10 sales I would only make $400. I would need to do this day after day if I wanted to make a living out of this.

The key was in choosing products which offered a range of value. With each one I could earn slightly larger commissions than before. By using a product suite, I could earn more because of high ticket items and monthly residual sales. Plus with the right training I could focus my efforts on the right activities – generating sales rather than building products or learning.

These are often the main things which stop us from achieving in life because “I’m not worth that” or “I don’t really want that”, or “I’ll never achieve that” .
