Benefits:
Owning your own online business has many benefits. For starters you don’t have have an alarm clock, you can work where and when you choose and you can leave your 9-5 and sack the boss! These are great benefits but what do you need to do to make this a reality, why isn’t everyone building online businesses and how can I make it work for me?
Starting off
I started looking to the internet for a source of income several years ago. Back then, I was selling things on ebay. At first I sold stuff from my bedroom and then I bought stuff from charity shops and sold them for a profit. After a while of trying different methods of finding bargain items and selling them for a profit, or a loss sometimes, I decided there must be a better way to use the internet to make money – turns out I was right!
Learning new skills
Since pursuing this path I have learned a lot of skills; I learned how to build websites, create content, write articles and choose suitable affiliate products to promote. I learned how link to affiliate products from my content so I got credit when something sold. I am still learning today and will always continue to do so. This is something you must do if you are new to affiliate marketing and want to pursue an online business of your own. Anyone can learn the necessary skills if they have the desire to do so, and put in the time and effort.
Applying new skills
There is a lot of learning in affiliate marketing and often the amount of information can be overwhelming. There is always some shiny new toy on display which promises an easier experience. Once you have learned something new you can implement it and this can help you make money. It is important not to get caught up in only learning and never applying. Remember why you started. Presumably to make an income?
Put the work before the income
In a job you turn up, put the hours in and get paid, whatever the standard of your performance is. With an internet business you determine whether you get paid (or not) by your activities and the 
development of your knowledge. This means you need to keep growing and applying the knowledge you have learned. You can’t expect to get paid if you haven’t put the effort in.
Keep believing
It can be easy to get demoralized with an internet business. This is especially true if you are working on your own and don’t have a lot of support. There are plenty of motivational websites, blogs, videos and courses out there but if you ‘circle of influence’ – friends, relatives and peer group doesn’t support your new venture, you will be in for a tough time. Join a community of people who you can ask for help and this will make it a lot easier.
