Brain Reprogramming Techniques

Brain reprogramming techniques can be used to remove limiting beliefs from your subconscious mind. By doing so, you can alter your old programming which limits your scope for change. Let’s say for example you would like to go on a diet and get fitter.

You set off with great intentions but before long you give up and fall into old behaviour patterns. In many cases this is simply because your old programming has kicked in. Your self image won’t allow you to go beyond a certain level of achievement in any given area of your life.

By changing your inner beliefs, core values and self image, you can make far more effective changes than by only focusing on external achievement – (thinking, planning and doing). No matter how hard you try, you’ll still be limited if your underlying beliefs don’t support your new idea of yourself. See also law of attraction techniques.

Brain Reprogramming Techniques

brain reprogramming techniques

One of the simplest and most effective brain reprogramming techniques is the use of a mantra or affirmation. We all talk to ourselves throughout the day, giving our subconscious mind instructions and affirmations based on how we feel, what we believe and what we really want and expect from life. The problem is, we often program our subconscious to deliver what we don’t want, by giving too much energy to it.

By focusing the conscious mind on a specific outcome which we truly desire, and then repeating it over and over, we can reprogram the subconscious mind fast. How we go about this is important because we can easily make a mistake and create something which is ultimately not good for us, or which doesn’t consider all the possible implications.

An example of what we might already say to ourselves over and over could be this:

“I’m never enough, whatever I do I always feel behind and unhappy”

This is an instruction which you are giving to your subconscious mind over and over. Life may feel like this, but your affirmations only give it more power. So, it’s important to choose affirmations which reflect what you want, rather than what you don’t want.

Brain Reprogramming Techniques – Mantras For Abundance

Here’s a good affirmation for creating more abundance financially:

“I’m so happy and grateful now, money comes to me, in increasing amount through multiple sources, on a continual basis.”

Starting an affirmation with “I’m so happy and grateful” is powerful because in most cases you’re going to want this as a side effect anyway. You certainly don’t want to be “miserable and frustrated”. Starting your affirmation with the state you intend to be in gives it more substance too than just going after what you think you want ‘physically’. In fact most goals anyone sets are based on the idea that they will make them feel good. Hence: happy and grateful.

Choose an affirmation which is unique to what you really want and which is based in the present moment. That way, you’re not focusing on something which may always be in the future. Repeat it a hundred times daily at least for as long as possible. Within 4-8 weeks you should start noticing some change occurring. If not, go back and do the repetitions but visualise your goal coming true and really focus your imagination on creating the ideas you want to achieve.

Brain Reprogramming Techniques – Your Thought Process

Your thoughts are continually running an inner dialogue which never stops unless you are focused on some activity. This dialogue is “feeding” your subconscious mind with your beliefs and ideas. Over time this creates strong paradigms or patterns of thinking within your subconscious mind. Your thoughts become ideas and this translates to your life through your paradigms.

By becoming more aware of your thinking processes, you can change these paradigms. Are your thoughts always true? What do you believe about the areas of your life which you want to change? How does this limit you and create difficulties? Could these beliefs be false?

Napoleon Hill “Nature has so build man that he has absolute control over the material which reaches his subconscious mind….although this is not meant to be construed as a statement that man always exercises this control…” “In the great majority of instances, he does not exercise it.”

Meditation And Watching The Mind

By practicing an awareness of your inner dialogue through silent ‘watching’ of the mind, or meditation, anyone can learn to notice their thoughts without being influenced by them. This is one of the most powerful brain reprogramming techniques anyone can do. Most people are run by their thoughts. Meditation can allow you to notice your thoughts but create a ‘space’ between thoughts and your awareness. This can allow you to more consciously choose the thoughts you are giving power to.

The first step is to simply sit upright, quietly somewhere and close your eyes. Set an alarm for 5 minutes and simply watch your thoughts without engaging in them. Let them come and go, without getting involved in them. If you make a daily habit of this, over time you will have more clarity and focus. You will be able to discern the thoughts you want to give energy to over those which are not serving you. Notice in particular any thoughts about the subject which you intend to change. How do these thoughts impact your goals, dreams and desires?

Brain Reprogramming Techniques – Self Image

Thoughts become things. By noticing your thoughts you can reprogram your brain. Releasing any negative thoughts and beliefs which are holding you from your goals and ambitions can help you to change your current behaviour. Our self image has a great deal to do with the limits we put on our successes. Unless you can align your self image with your goals, you’ll put up an invisible barrier to your success.

Maxwell Maltz noticed that many of his plastic surgery patients were still unhappy even after corrective surgery gave them the features or body they thought they wanted. He realised that it was their self image which needed to change most. Some patients immediately changed after their surgery. But others didn’t. Maltz learned that changing someone’s self image often meant that they didn’t need to surgery they previously wanted.
