If you don’t already know much about affiliate marketing, you can be in for a bumpy ride. Affiliate marketing can be a great business, if you do it right and use the right business model. If you choose either the wrong kind of products to promote or the wrong methods of promotion, you can find yourself with problems. I struggled for years with affiliate marketing simply because I didn’t know what I was doing. Only when I started from scratch with the DBL, did things really begin to change for me. Why Use A Product Suite With Your Affiliate Marketing Business?
If your affiliate marketing model only has a single item which you can sell, your earnings will always be limited to your single commission. This also means your advertising strategy has to recoup whatever you spend from only a single commission structure.
With a range of products in your sales funnel, you can make more per subscriber overall and this means you can more easily offset your advertising costs. High ticket products can pay out 40% of the cost of an item. Compare a high ticket item of say $1000 to a lwer valued item of £100. Your commission would be either $400 or $40. With a commission of $400 it is easier to see how you can build and scale up your business. To make $4000, you only need to sell 10 of these products. That’s compared to having to sell 100 of the lower valued item.
Then there’s subscription products. For years I didn’t understand the concept of selling items which gave you regular commissions. Subscriptions or memberships allow affiliates to sell a product once, and then earn a monthly income from the regular payments. This makes a massive difference to your affiliate business once it’s up and running. Your regular income gives you a more sustainable model and lets you invest in your business to grow it more quickly.
